This is a longshot but are there any other Scala users here? Seems unlikely but I've seen other functional languages mentioned and I think we lost confab (I forget the other name he went by) long ago to functional :)

YES! When I used Python now, although I still love it, I *really* miss Scala's pattern matching and it's the #1 feature I'd want to see ported over.
