Anyone know what happened to pypi-org stats page?
#1
Hi all,

The pypi-org stats page used to work as recently as April 2019, but stopped sometime in May. The page now displays a "Sorry, something went wrong page" (Service Unavailable, error 503) and has been that way ever since. The page also now directs people to "Check out our status page" or "View Python Status on Twitter", but neither have the info I want.

The pypi-org stats page used to be such a great resource for me because it contained the top 100 packages (in terms of their storage sizes).

Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to it, or where an equivalent page is now?

Thanks.

No; I've seen that page. It's showing popularity of packages by number of downloads per day/week/month.

https://pypi.org/stats/ showed the top 100 largest packages by size.

You could contact pypi
https://pypi.org/help/#maintainers

If you go to the PyPA link they give you Github/Bitbucket links as well as discuss.python.org link and a couple mailing lists. Hopefully you would be able to contact them in regards to why that page has been down for so long.

EDIT:
I posted in this mailing list. I guess we will see what they say

Thanks! Great suggestions. I'll watch that mailing list post as well.
