I've voted for the 3th one but now I think it's better in reverce. The 3th I mean.

All results tend to go in one general direction: We need more options added. I think there should be no hard limit to number of options, so that's no big deal then

However not yet decided on the new default for new / unregistered users.

Words are probably better than just numbers, otherwise someone somewhere in the world will likely be confused.

As a merican, I see "mm/dd/yyyy" all the time, and I hate it. It just doesn't make any sense to go "general-specific-much more general". Increasingly less specific seems like the way it should be, especially since most people are conscious of what the current month/year are, so the only relevant number is the date itself... so having date first makes the most sense to me.

That said, "MonthName day, YYYY" is unambiguous enough to look good while also getting the job done. Same for similar variants, like "MMM-dd-YYYY".
