Developing as a programmer by coding actual work
#1
Hi all

I have been looking into python for a while and made some small scripts for my own use. This can be a fine way to learn and improve - any coding > just reading. However I have started thinking about doing some actual work (for others) in python which brings up some questions:

When learning python (or any language) by yourself how can you really tell when you are ready to take on tasks for others?

Where would be a good place to start finding small projects to work on and not through an actual full time job as a programmer?

Maybe this has been discussed before and/or some of you have been through similar thoughts. Would appreciate some inputs on this topic from all of you.
