Scroll down?! There is something called #Chat at the top of the page. I didn't find anything else. Or you are looking the mobile layout?

Yes scroll down to the bottom of the home page.

This is not connected to the #Chat at the top aka the IRC, but it's own kind of joint. In other forums I knew shoutboxes at the top which were always visible, that was kind of the point there, but hidden at the bottom of only one page and not connected to the real chat? I fail to see the merits there as it stands.

The #chat is IRC to #python-forum

This has been the IRC channel for the forum as long as i can remember. It is completely separate from the forum, and you can log in from anywhere.

The shoutbox is separate from IRC. Only viewable to logged in users of the forum and on the server itself.

The location of the chat can be moved to the top, as well as always visible....if thats what people want. Those were the default settings. I didnt want to post it to the top if everyone hated it.

There is also another reason i was thinking of this. Because the old admin Taos is an operator of #python-forum, if not registered to him?

Not sure I like this. Might be nice for admins and mods (if that's possible), but for regular users? Thinking not a good idea.
If it ain't broke, I just haven't gotten to it yet.

Thats a good idea too. And yes it can be restricted to certain user groups. :)

I added a poll of options on what to do with it.

I like it. I think we should either make it use our IRC channel, or pick one, and stick to it. I like that shutbox is very noob-friendly.

I like that the conversation is right here in the forum, without having to go to another application and a different login. If we are going to have a conversation interface for the forum, I prefer having it with this box thingy.

I think it's rad.  Are top/bottom the only options?  Because floating along the side of the page (so it's still visible regardless of where you scroll) would also be cool.
