Greetings.
I am a graduate student in aerospace/astronautical engineering with a strong interest in computer programming and software development. Spacecraft are primarily run by computer systems so learning programming and programming logic is a sensible addition to my set of skills.
I look forward to learning.

Online I go by Exsul, Latin for "wanderer" or "exile." I'm a teacher (English, Latin, and Philosophy), self-published author, and father of three who is having trouble making ends meet and looking to supplement his income by becoming a freelance programmer. I started learning Python 3 a few months ago, and I'm having all kinds of fun with it. Currently I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to get Kivy installed on my machine without breaking PyCharm.

Hello Everyone!

First, about my username: My wife calls my basement computer hide-away "The Dungeon." Therefore, "Tom in the Dungeon."
My first computer was a Timex-Sinclair, 2K RAM, no HDD or SSD, in 1983. Moved up to a Commodore 64. Then, a $1200 286, which I upgraded to a 386 myself. I Found Windows 3.0 at my wife's urging, and got as far as Windows 7, when I abandoned Windows altogether, and went to Linux...and I'm NEVER looking back. Many computers and upgrades later, I now have an HP Z210 workstation, and since it's now fast enough to actually DO something with it, I'm trying to learn Python. WOW, LOTS to learn! I hope to have many intelligent conversations with you in the very near future.
