Looking back at your original post, I guess you are right. Especially since your original explanation contradicts your original code in two places. I have no idea what you are trying to do.

no, my code the way it is now works fine and does what it should do,
it calculates the balance after n years.
Now the question is, how large does A need to be in order
to pay off the loan in n years? (a smaller n requires a larger A).
Is it clear now ?
