Not true, I've been using it for a couple of years.
I think you must have downloaded a trial version of the professional version, which does expire after 30 days.

Thanks Buran. Now I am able to download community edition of PyCharm.

Quick question-- Do I need perform any configuration?

When I open one of my python code file, I got a message that --"No Python interpreter configured for the project"

yes, you do. I would suggest to start with https://www.jetbrains.com/help/pycharm/q...guide.html
There is quite a lot to learn about PyCharm in order to use its full capacity

Just to correct that a little Wink
There are 2 version, the Free open-source Community edition.
Then there is the paid Professional version.

Just to post some info about VS code, the editor that i use.
Don Jayamanne did a so good job on the Python extension for Visual Studio Code.
That this happens:
Don Jayamanne, creator of the Python extension for Visual Studio Code, joins Microsoft.
