Perl. Always respected this language.

I love Perl, only problem is that I tend to re-write over and over because I'm not a good commentor, and I can't understand perl code that I wrote after a few weeks.
I'd choose 'C' (possibly C++)

Yes it is. This often happens with Perl code.
Python is eating the world and my project too.
