User Titles
#1
Did you folks change the criteria for user titles? I notice I went from 2 stars to one and from "regular" to "junior member" (which is better than irregular  :) )
If it ain't broke, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
OS: Windows 10, openSuse 42.3, freeBSD 11, Raspian "Stretch"
Python 3.6.5, IDE: PyCharm 2018 Community Edition

Yeah i rearranged the user titles, star counts, and admin/mod images.

Your not demoted...Its just by default they had the highest user title post count at 500, and this forum is going to easily have people go above that. At that point everyone would be changing their titles every 50 posts or so. So now its spanned out further.

The titles as it stands now (may change based on other admins and mods opinions)

Newcomer =           0 posts (user group as a "Registered" to help us find spammers)(and most likely we will restrict this user group abilites too such as signatures
Junior Member =      5 posts (user group as a "User" from here on)
Member =             100 posts
Senior Member =      500 posts
Junior Contributor = 1000 posts
Contributor =        1500 posts
Senior Contributor = 2000 posts
Specialist =         2500 posts
Techie =             3000 posts
Guru =               5000 posts
Hacker =             10000 posts
Where a star gets added every level.

OK, so no-one on the previous forum reached even techie level ::)

Specialist: 2
Senior contributor: 1
Contributor: 3
Junior contributor: 2
Senior member: 5
Member: 20

IMHO a very steep curve. A log curve would be better, more or less x2 for each step.

Unless noted otherwise, code in my posts should be understood as "coding suggestions", and its use may require more neurones than the two necessary for Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V.

micseydel... if you add up the old forum, with the old old forum i think  had near or above 5000 posts (or was it near 7500?). As well as others. The problem was we had a few troubles with the last two admins....thus the reason for this site in the first place. But if none of the databases were lost, i think he would be up there.

Im not fond of that. A lot of people on the "old old" forum had 1000+ posts. Too much in the beginning and not enough at the end). I like mostly 500 increments up to where most users are at. And that is just a user title anyways. The only one that really effects ability is the one that is at 5 posts.

But we can of course hear others opinions. :)  Whatever the majority of users want, happens. Thats the point of not having a sole admin.

For me, the more titles, the better. Maybe Ofnuts' style until 1000 and metulburr 's style from there on. Only thing, I don't like the title names too much. Need to put some more thought into that. Also, at which point can the user edit the title name herself? Maybe start at 1000 already and not at the very end.

Also thanks for removing the stars from admins/mods, it was quite too much. However, now it says Admin or Mod twice, in title name and picture.

There can be more than 10

by default never. Only admins and mods can. I would have to make a new user group to switch them to at X posts that allow them to customize their user titles.
