Why can't I check my PMs?

When I go to check my PMs, I get this error:

You do not have permission to access this page. This could be because of one of the following reasons:
Your account has either been suspended or you have been banned from accessing this resource.
You do not have permission to access this page. Are you trying to access administrative pages or a resource that you shouldn't be? Check in the forum rules that you are allowed to perform this action.
Your account may still be awaiting activation or moderation. (Resend Activation Code)
You have accessed this page directly rather than using appropriate forms or link.
Your post contained known spam keywords or phrases that are blocked from new users. Try removing spammy information and repost.

Is it because I'm a new user or something else? Thanks.

Registered and awaiting activation user groups (AKA under 5 posts) are not allowed to use the PM system at this point.
Awaiting activation can contact IRC if they are having problems activating.

Ok, so I just need 5 posts.

You might need to wait for the task manager to run to switch your user group. Be patient, in time.

EDIT:
Issue fixed. Everyone can now read PM's, but only users >=5 posts can send them.
