Windows 10 Compatability
#1
IMITS-PHSA (Provincial Health Services Authority) in British Columbia is planning the future workspace requirements for our users and require compatibility information for the software versions we currently have installed:

PythonSoftwareFoundation_Python_2.6.5_

Can anyone confirm the following for me?:
1. Does this version listed runs on Windows 10
2. Does the version run on a 64 bit processor? If not what version does, and what is the licence fee?
3. Is the version able to run with Citrix receiver and/or on VDI (i.e. thin-client)?

…thank-you for your help.

Python 2.6.5 is an outdated version. You would want to upgrade to 2.7.15. I can confirm that 2.7 works on Windows 10 64 bit. If 2.6 is working for your Citrix/VDI (shudder), 2.7 should as well.

You may notice that the latest version of Python is 3.6.5, not 2.7.15. DO NOT SWITCH TO 3.6.5 WITHOUT TALKING TO YOUR PROGRAMMERS FIRST. It could break all their programs.

Can anyone confirm the following for me?:
1. Not officially.
2. Yes.
3. The hardware doesn't matter. The installed OS is important.

The End of life of Python 2.7 is officially announced for 2020.
If you're still depending on this Python (2.6/2.7) version, you have bigger problems as you think.
