What are other alternatives?
These are optional but i just havent done them yet to know 100% sure that it would work without a problem. favicon Option example more info favicon counter favicon unread dot

No alternatives for me except what I've voted for.
I usually keep opened between 40-80 tabs so almost all tab text is hidden.

And with the current format the visible part of your tabs only shows a unread count, and is a bit useless to help you figure out what the page contains.

If I keep the forum in a tab opened its good enough for me to see if there are new posts in the tab title. I don't care if I can't see the rest of the title because all sites are using these little tiny favicons and I always know which tab for which site is.
