help me remember the name of a Book . . .

Hi: I am looking for a book that I had read a while back. It tracks the experience of a development team. The book’s title is something like “1035 bugs in 1000 days” or something like that. It was a journalist following a group of developers in the 2000’s or 1990’s. Pre-iphone. It was around PDA times. The CEO of the company had some prior success and his vision was to develop a program that tracked calendar and could scrape dates and appoints from email and phone messages to place on the calendar.

The team went through a lot of goofy funny stories, like people brought dogs and cats (zoo) to the work place, and they had meeting after meeting and they were constantly poorly communicating and behind schedule. There were endless delays and debacles and the program was obsolete before it even got any footing.

The moral of the story: that it is amazing that a program ever gets made and it is amazing that they are as bug free as they are.

If you know the title of that book, pls let me know. It was a fun read.

Thx.
