Will definitely have to try this and see if it really is that easy, thanks for the link :D

You're welcome. I also like this project. Make encryption easily available finally! :)

Just wondering if/when we can activate it for this forum as well.

researching this and the process to switch i see a lot of possible mybb errors as well as apache errors. Of course this could be with anything. But from hearing from others about how much of a pain in the ass it is to setup and configure correctly and have everything working afterwords makes me less enthusiastic about taking it on. Especially since the old site didnt use it either, and was fine with getting to rank #1 (if thats what your referring to).  I know that ssl would be ideal. But is its not like we are inputting our credit card numbers in this site.

Of course if other admins want to tweak apache to get this going...have at it. I would suggest a "before" snapshot before you start modifying in case we have to revert from a problem.

I might in the future take another wack again at this....but at this point ive put a lot of time into setting this up. I dont want to really take on something like this at the moment.

How's the server setup? Could we just spin up another instance, test on that, and make it live if it works?

with snapshot it wont matter...we could just simply revert to before...

I just watched that video that sparkz posted....i can assure you there are a ton of links already for http that will break afterwords. Where they are? I wouldnt know until we find them.

Reissuing every 3 months might be another problem. Not sure if anyone would remember. And if we setup a cron job...im not sure what would happen if an error occured?
