prophet & (python) & excel ?
#1
Hi all. Thanks for having me here, in this great community (entering closing door slowly..)

here is question: would you recommend this, python, as programming tool, to try match/adjust/programm (indeed)/ automation between software Prophet (Sungard ltd software to model CashFlows and financial reporting) and Excel ?

I'd like to start running automation which might be quite simple at begin: copy-paste tables between tables, provide range controls, charts ..
Prophet works in libraries and then it needs , at specific level, then pure coding for mathematical formulaes.
Of course I'm missing some key items to help you driving your answer ?

Thanks in advance for your reply

There are some really powerful business tools for python:
  • Infor about Prophet here: https://pypi.org/project/prophet/
  • you can search for specific applications here: https://pypi.org/pypi/
  • odoo is management software used to run a company, and can be explored here: https://www.odoo.com/
  • Tryton is a package containing the following (Accounting, Invoicing, Sale Management, Purchase Management, Analytic Accounting, Inventory Management, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Project Management, Lead and Opportunity Management) and can be explored here: http://www.tryton.org/

This is just a beginning, but should give you a feel for what's available

thanks indeed for quick reply so far
I'll give a look

however i'm not sure whether I was clear. I was refering to the already existing modeling platform Prophet for Actuarial Modelin (Sungard ltd) meaning I was looking for some good coding platform to help me getting some automation but using Prophet (Sungard Ltd) as baseline and add on top the other (Python exc.) not vice-versa

Thanks
