Depending on inflection, (and with the help of punctuation) one sentence may mean two
different things:
What is this this thing called Love?
or
What is this thing called, Love?

I've always thought that not including a comma before the conjunction is an odd way to write a sentence. It's like you're purposefully trying to confuse people.
Use the Oxford comma - this is how I was taught (in elementary school, Massachusetts, USA about 1953)
