they are working on that now, to get rid of all scripts that use python 2. i guess after that is don then they can get rid of python 2 itself. they are committing to 5 years support for this stuff.
Yes, this is the cause they want to get rid of all Python 2 tools/scripts, to get rid of Python 2.
i hope they get to that point in 20.04 so they can end any/all python 2 support at 18.04 EOL.
