For all you data scientists (or anyone really) found a poll trying to decide what a group of data scientist should be called. Think murder of crows, ___ of Data Scientists. Vote a bunch of times, it's more fun that way: http://allourideas.org/counter_for_data_scientists
I think they should be called statisticians, I really don't think much of the term 'data scientist'. But that's just me practicing on becoming a grumpy old man.
When I started designing and writing code in 1968. Whatever you did related to programming or any part of it, you were referred to as 'The IBM guy' or 'The computer guy' and your job was called 'Computers' it didn't matter if you worked on IBM machines or not. The 'Computer room' at my first job (in software, worked in engineering prior to that) had a sign engraved 'IBM room' inside was a Honeywell 1000.
A group of Data Scientists are officially a cluster!

Thanks to everyone who participated.
