This was my initial intent when i added this shoutbox....to put it not on the index page, but on a sub page. I finally figured out how based on previous questions on their forum, and modified it to allow it to be on sub pages too.

So the sub page would be here
https://python-forum.io/shoutbox.php

and could remove it off of the index

Or has everyone grown accustom to it being on the index page now?

Well done! There are many weeks when nobody posts there at all, at all. Therefore I assume, nobody will oppose the move.
Im trying to think where to put the link for it?

Maybe change the #Chat -> #IRC
and then relabel this as Chat?
Just put it at the end of the line.
Because it's used so infrequently, I'm not sure people will open a different page to see it. Therefore, if it's taken off of the main page, anything said there might... never... be read...

OK, let's go with "#IRC" and "Chatbox"

I am with nilamo though. If it's not used much, maybe not worth much hassle.

Still not sure if the bottom of the overview page is a more prominent position though. I for one hardly ever look there, just follow the search at top, or move to a sub-forum directly. Therefore, the position in the top menu may in fact revitalise the chatbox, even if only temporary now.
