Is there any way to get rid of the those infernal twitchy emojis just to the left of me? I keep seeing them out of the corner of my eye and it makes it harder to focus on what I am reading or writing. I don't mind the stationary ones although I wouldn't mind if they all went away.
in the toolbar there is button with four arrows. It will expand the edit pane to whole screen. In combination with zoom that should solve all your problems, hopefully

It does make the emojis go away, so that's better. But the font is the same. It's a little easier to read this way, but it's still too light for me.
And zooming in is even worse now as the text already fills the screen.
