I finally figured out how to edit the plugin to accommodate guests to post in shoutbox. This would allow people having trouble logging in to post there...however it might be a breeding ground for spam as well as guests asking python related questions on chat instead of the forum.

I was trying to make it an even playing ground for the shoutbox VS IRC chat. I still think at some point we should choose one, and that be our only method of chat.

Any filtering capabilities in this plugin?

Not that i am aware of, but that is a good possibility to add one. I would assume you could go to archive and use the browser to search though.
