Overview
Our team is looking for a Trading System Architect and Developer. The ideal candidate is an expert in designing and building a trading system, translating technology and business requirements into trading transactions, which are to be carried out via third-party API calls. Typical activities will include the design of the general architecture (e.g., engines to create transactions, schedulers to regularly update status, vaults for audit-proof storage of transaction data) and delivery of the designed products (incl. assessment and deployment of third-party tools, where applicable, or own development).
Key responsibilities:
• Co-design the target architecture of a trading system (incl. intake of trading jobs, translating into transactions, execution of transaction via API calls, and related activities such as access management, auditing, or backups)
• Creation/delivery of the various code elements (incl. setup of server, buy-or-build decisions to either set up of third-party tools where possible, or own coding)
• Be a partner to the business side to co-define business requirements (e.g., auditing of transactions)
• Be a partner to external stakeholders to co-define tech requirements (e.g., connection to third-party APIs)
• Work with the team to deliver a sustainable, scalable system, which integrates into an existing IT infrastructure
• Long-term perspective: Obtain a leading role ('product owner'), incl. end-to-end responsibility for the entire system and other developer team members
Key requirements:
• Proficiency in required programming languages/frameworks (incl. Amazon EC2, Python)
• Experience with running a professional local working environment, as this is a purely remote role
(in particular: experience with IDEs such as PyCharm, VisualStudio, setting up and managing virtual environments, collaboration via GitHub)
• Strong understanding of end-to-end workflow/process management for the design phase
(e.g., define scope of trading system, anticipate exceptions)
• Very high attention to data quality and detail (including checks, auditing, etc.)
• Strong on-the-fly documentation skills (e.g., Python typing, pydantic, docstrings)
• High willingness to learn and explore alternative paths for challenging problems, together with the team
• Proficiency in English language
