Thank you for posting that; it's a 1st for me and I look forward to having a go.
Fun! I've cracked the first one, but I'm guessing it's going to get harder than that!
While waiting for the next 2022 challenge, I thought I'd have a go at the 2021 calendar, which is interesting.

Day 4: Giant Squid, made me think about what I could use to crack this, so I went about learning how to use NumPy, which seemed (to me) to be one way to do this.

I've cracked Part 1, and learned how to use some of the NumPy tools in the process, which has taken only a couple of days to do and is a very good feeling when you finally pop in the answer and it returns "That's the right answer!"

These are very good puzzles with which to teach yourself and I recommend that anyone who wants to expand their skills to go and give these a try.
