I remember, there is a German programme called SEMA for constructing rooves, or generally for wooden constructions.

I dabbled with it, just out of interest, same as I play with AutoCAD sometimes.

I believe such programmes can do quantity calculations.

Thank you everyone, I bought a few ebooks and am taking a dive into the world of python. It will probably be a while before I get back to this .
