I'm in the middle of a huge project. I would not be able to contribute.

That's only an issue if it's actually live.  I was just going to run it with an older backup of the forum locally (or on one of my private servers).  It doesn't really make sense for joe-user to be able to log into something that they can't also make posts on, lol

I was thinking of something like back to back forum. This forum from .io. Then the python creatd one on the same server linked by something like python-forum.com to go to the alpha forum. Same database, but might crash, etc. Then whenever the bugs are detailed out, close this one or route it to the new one.
I want to contribute to a forum software for Python i think FlaskBB is the best choice.
The only one i know that's been actively developed.
I have  not check lately if there are other Python forum software that are been developed.
I did run DjangoBB one time as a test, but it's not been actively developed

I did setup and run NodeBB(with own Domain name) in the section process to choose a forum.
I did test 4-5 forum software in that process.

I am happy with MyBB now,and how this forum has progressed.
PHP is of course a disadvantage, but it don't bather me to much.
As we can control and change the Forum as we want with a little effort Sleepy
