I often have to ask my wife what month it is when writing down a date. Im ashamed to say sometimes i do that with the year also. lol regardless, the order in which they are shown i could care less about. I think textual representation is best for the month as it completely makes it clear which is which, whichever way it is displayed. I personally prefer M (Dec) as it takes less space up though as opposed to F (December). RE: Date format - wavic - Dec-14-2016 (Dec-14-2016, 07:02 PM)metulburr Wrote: Not true to everyone. But in the opposite way. 11.12.2016 to you means dec 11 2016, but to me means nov 12 2016 RE: Date format - wavic - Dec-14-2016 I know the american way well. Dec is good. I see now the date of my laptop is Wen Dec 14, 21:15 :D Funny! But I don't bother for date too much. When I started this thread I was worried about order of information, and whether or not the month is written as a number or a name. Now I learned, there may also be abbreviations, and even more important: What can you put between information? Space? Dash? Colon? Dot? Mix it all? Fun times! RE: Date format - wavic - Dec-14-2016 If you decide for 'Dec' I prefer space RE: Date format - micseydel - Dec-14-2016 Wouldn't "dec" and "oct" be misleading though? :) RE: Date format - wavic - Dec-14-2016 If a Martian Python programmer visit the forum may be. With their two moons ... It would be confusing.
