Non-Geographic Heat Maps - JackValadez - Oct-17-2018

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, performed a search, but no results. I would like to create a heatmap on a map of our product floor that will show us how our product performs relative to similar/like product. All resources that I find in regards to heat maps only discuss them for geographic maps (Google). I would like to do one for either an image file, Autocad, or anything else that may work (open to other file types/programs). I assume that I would need to assign some type of coordinate system to all of the product for the heat map overlay to work properly. Could someone please provide me to a resource or library that could fit my needs? Any help is greatly appreciated!
