net neutrality - metulburr - May-10-2017 Im sure you guys have all heard about this. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/may/09/what-is-net-neutrality-fcc-vote-why-it-matters?CMP=share_btn_tw John Oliver about the topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92vuuZt7wak www.gofccyourself.com -> Express -> Voice your opinion RE: net neutrality - sparkz_alot - May-10-2017 This might be a little bit easier to use... Dear FCC RE: net neutrality - bigmit37 - May-25-2017 Have your guys heard about the fake posts being made on the FCC site using comcast customer info? Either comcast info got leaked or someone inside is using customer information to make fake posts against net neutrality. Because connection to sites like this will be slower (if at all) because we cant pay a fee to ISP's to speed up our connection like big companies websites. As with millions of other sites. https://act.eff.org/action/protect-the-open-internet-order RE: net neutrality - Klar - Dec-15-2017 battleforthenet.com that exists too sorry for the lateish reply RE: net neutrality - sparkz_alot - Dec-15-2017 I think another facet not talked about much, if at all, is how this will affect upgrades, be it Linux, Windows, Mac or the *nix's. If you look at the software on your computer, how many programs are set for auto-update. Will these be impacted as well? Since the measure was passed, despite the overwhelming opinion of the public and industry, I doubt Congress will step in and the only hope may be for the courts to rule in favor of the public and not the corporations. RE: net neutrality - metulburr - Dec-15-2017 They voted yesterday.....against net nuetrality. I expect things like facebook to soon cost $5 monthly subscription to access, or ISP's to be able to throttle speeds to sites that dont pay them money, etc. We are going to have to like proxy our connections to access sites Wouldnt surprise me to see new fees like a fee to pay your isp to enable auto update.....who knows what they can come up with when america revolves around money RE: net neutrality - wavic - Dec-15-2017 I don't want to live there. |
