Python Developer at Submarine Studio (Amsterdam) - Sub - Oct-25-2016

For our animation studio we are looking for a Python Developer who can help us expand our internal asset management system and help us with pipeline related scripts. Our asset management system is based on the open source version of TACTIC, we use it as a valuable tool to support the production of our animated projects: tracking assets, assigning tasks and scenes, rendering and issue tracking.

Our goal in the coming months is to expand and streamline this system so that it can support future productions and increase the usability for all of our departments.

You’ll be working with our existing technical team and a UI designer.

Submarine is an Amsterdam-based production studio that produces feature films, documentaries, animation and transmedia. Submarine has established itself as an innovative company, mixing traditional and interactive storytelling, all with an international focus. The company works with talented and acclaimed directors who explore the boundaries of the moving image.

In 2016 Submarine Studio was founded: a studio that focuses specifically on producing animation projects. Hit Entertainment, a subsidiary of Mattel, has chosen Submarine Studio to design and produce a big and new animation series called ‘the Wellie Wishers’. The team has rapidly expanded to over 50 people in the past month.

Requirements:
• Project based
• Experience with both Linux and Windows
• Excellent knowledge of Python 2.7
• Javascript knowledge is a plus
• Based near/in Amsterdam
• Good communication skills
• Affiliation with animation or vfx desired
• Start date ASAP
