You see there has been an explosion of new genres, cross-overs, styles of music, electronic or otherwise, you can't possible know all.
Then again, there is the "long tail" effect by the internet and stuff, so any odd couple and their mothers can found a band and gain (some) recognition these days.

I started up a band when i was in school and just out of school. However heavy metal was not so popular at that time. I should of been born 20 years prior and i would of hit the sweet spot on that. Instead i opted to do something else. The music now is just weird in my opinion.

I can listen to that... For a while. I can listen to almost any music. Depends on the mood.
