Python 3.6.4 setup fails - embeeusername - Mar-16-2018

Am trying to install python 3.6.4 on windows 10 pro. The setup fails with 0x80070643 - Fatal error during installation. Have tried with elevated launch - no difference. Curious, I tried installing python-2.7.14, which went perfectly. Both are amd64. Log file copied below. I am not a programmer and don't really understand what the log is telling me. I just need to have the full python 3.6.4 package installed. Anyone have any insight about what is happening?
