Is comp.lang.python dead?
#1
Hello,

Out of curiosity, I checked https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/...ang.python, and it's pretty much all SPAM.

Is that newsgroup gone, and replaced with www.python-forum.io?

Thank you.

Thanks.

I asked because this forum is mentioned in the Community section of www.python.org, and since the newsgroup is full of SPAM, I thought the forum had been created as an alternative.

Thank you.

No i requested to python.org that there be a forum section for communication added. They agreed and added us and other forums languages. Some people like mailing lists, some people dont. We dont. We couldnt tell you about other communities as we are not affiliated with anyone else.

However if spam is filling up and no one is removing it, its a good sign the community is somewhat dead or at least in limbo.
