We have the database download, so we have the content. I haven't had any time to work on it since we made the actual move. However, I plan on retiring this summer, so I might have some time for it then.

Our forum now seems to be 1st place on Google search for "python forum".
Has this happened a while ago and I somehow missed it? :D

The .org one is still #1 for me. .io is #2.

Funny, for me it is reverse, and I don't mind :)

Google will adjust its results depending on your past usage etc, so everybodys results will be different.

For example for me, with that exact search term "python forum", I will see first result als www.python-forum.de followed by www.python.org and other results, whereas www.python-forum.io is at #6

Would be interesting to try the search with a brand new profile with zero history for comparison

@Kebap I considered that and for that purpose used a private window. Though it's not foolproof of course. If nothing else, Google still gets the IP I searched from.

Exactly what I did. However for example, even if I open www.google.com it seems to automatically notice my location as Germany and show German buttons and prefer German results.

Here is a more objective result from (random page) smallseotools.com/keyword-position/

Keyword	KeyWord Position
https://www.google.com/
python	N/A
python help	80
python forum	2
python answer	N/A
python discussion	5
python community	N/A
python homework	17
python error	N/A

You can open google.com/ncr to avoid localisation

I use StartPage.  Still uses the Google, but hides originating IP.
If it ain't broke, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
