Dict from list - HELP! PLEASE!

[cherry_cherry]

It returns an empty dictionary. None is something different.

Now this code is ok but when I use with other function, a new_dict isn't emty. And I did not find a solution to solve the notification problem.

def check(seq):
    for i in seq:
        (key, value), *rest = i.items()
        if value not in seq:
            new_dict[value] = dict(rest)
        else:
            return("Numero en double! " + "\n---->" +
                  value + "\nFichier non utilisable!")
    return new_dict
