Is it so? I don't use IDLE but:

brew list | grep python

resulted:

ipython
[email protected]

Then ⌘+space and entering IDLE will open it with no problems (Python version 3.8 in IDLE).
I'm not 'in'-sane. Indeed, I am so far 'out' of sane that you appear a tiny blip on the distant coast of sanity. Bucky Katt, Get Fuzzy
