when /etc/resolv.conf is a symlink, you can make it point to any file you want and NetworkManager won't change it.
i see the problem you are running into. you are getting an old leftover IPv6 address from my DNS. it's a still running server that has a web server on it and it may have ipal.net in its configuration.
i found an IPv6 server for S3 in my region and pointed my AAAA record there. give the original links a try, now.
