Looks like we're almost in the same shoes then! I also started learning Python, which is my first programming language. I follow the book "Python Crash Course" by Eric Matthes and checking out YouTube video tutorials and seminars for some plus information.
Right now, I'm not sure about which field I want to specialise in either, but I surely want to try out some crazy projects as seen in Michael Reeves' channel in the process. Like "I Let a Twitter Bot Decorate My Room" and "A Robot That Shoots Energy Drink at You When You Get Tired".
Stuff like these remind me that programming has potential both in a serious, career way and a fun, you-can-do-anything-silly-you-want way.
