You Should take a bike ride through Northern Virginia Wine Country. Wonderful country roads through the cotoctan mountains,

If you do the Northernmost vineyards, you can go up through Patomic to Poolsville, then cross the Patomic river on Whites ferry. This will bring you to Leesburg (several vineyards here), then go due west and visit the small town of Waterford (You'll think you just stepped back into the early 1700's). Then go back to Rt 9 and follow west stopping at Loudoun Vineyards, Hillsborough Vineyards, and one of my favorites Breaux Vineyards. Brign an empty backpack and bring some wine home , obviously you don't want to be drinking while riding a bike. But The food offered by some of these vineyards is outstanding.
