One can use zip() with iterator as well:
my_list = ['a', 'A', 'b', 'B', 'c', 'C'] dict(zip(*[iter(my_list)]*2))Python built-in itertools module documentation contains following recipe:
def grouper(iterable, n, fillvalue=None):
"Collect data into fixed-length chunks or blocks"
# grouper('ABCDEFG', 3, 'x') --> ABC DEF Gxx"
args = [iter(iterable)] * n
return zip_longest(*args, fillvalue=fillvalue)
