Add elements to a Dictionary

There are lot of ambiguity for me, so just some examples of dict and EAFP:

>>> ratings = {'Peppa the Pig': 5}
>>> ratings.update([('Bob the Builder', 10)])
>>> ratings
{'Peppa the Pig': 5, 'Bob the Builder': 10}
>>> try:
...     print(ratings['Fireman Sam'])
... except KeyError:
...     print('No rating for this movie')
...
No rating for this movie
