it was there after installing Xubuntu 20.04 on zeroed partitions. apparently Ubuntu (and so, also Xubuntu) now uses Python for something as it now has a dependency referencing it.

i'm soon going to try another fresh install on another disk and see how that goes and to get a reference of what a just completed but not customized install has.
