coult not convert string to float

Hello,

I got this error while trying to compile my code:

Error:
 
self.datayf.append(float(y.strip().replace(',', '')))
ValueError: could not convert string to float: '\\begin{figure}[h!]'

the thing is: there is no 

'\\begin{figure}[h!]'

 in the previous mentioned code line:

self.datayf.append(float(y.strip().replace(',', '')))

However 

 '\\begin{figure}[h!]'

  was mentioned previously here:


imgfigtabularstr = '\\begin{figure}[h!]\n\\centering\n\\begin{tabular}{cc}\n' 



What could that be?
