Entry Widget Issues

Help Required: I am developing an application and I need solution for two issues: 1. How to set a limitation to number of digits for Entry Widget. For example Employee Number has 5 digits, in any case the user who is doing entry should not key - in more than 5 digits. 2. How to get the Calender Widget. I browsed through Google and found out two sets of codes, but I could not link these two codes into the entry Widget for Date of Birth and Date of Joining entry .
