Send and receive Files(data/images) betwenn a python app and another appl

Hey,
I need to send and receive images and feedbacks between my python application and an application developped with Visual Basic, I thought about using Bluetooth to ensure the communication but all I find is client/server application using Python and Raspberry!
I'm still looking for a good and doable solution so any help would be appreciated.
