Last Pass
#1
The recent hack we had recently is a good reminder to everyone that you should not use the same password for each website. If one site is compromised, another can be. All to easily when you use the same password for each website. A good fix is to use a different password for each website. You can manually write them down which is a PITA or you can use something like LassPass. A different password for each site with a master password. In that way, if one site is compromised, you just abandon that one password, and generate a new one without worrying about the other sites.

As long as Lastpass stays secure :)

Personally I use Lastpass but I would prefer an open source solution I can run off my Pi or something, if anyone can recommend something like that. Tough to compete with Lastpass though since it works relatively seamlessly on Linux, macOS and Android.

Kind of like keepass, with a few of the plugins to integrate it with your browser and syncing the passwords across different computers using google drive?

Another solution is to use a translation system, where you translate the name of a website into a password. That's what I use. It doesn't work well with sites that require you to change your password, but it works for most sites without writing things down or using a password keeper.
