Installation of Python 2.7.x

If accidentally, default 2.6 version has been upgraded to 2.7 then how would we restore the default version.

You can remove python2.7 using apt-get remove python2.7
Or just make sure that the symlink of the file /usr/bin/python is pointing to python2.6
