Yeah, I'll start a new thread for the GUI stuff. First I'm trying to toy with getting ownership of the key via script--I'l see where that goes. Should I start a new thread for that because technically you solved this problem?

I think that you can stay on this thread if the subject keeps around Registry Key.
But if it goes like get/set fields in your GUI app, I suggest you to create another thread.
