Python Code for cross refrencing

Hello everyone,
I am new to python and I am trying to learn it at University ... I have got a list of companies and there locations, I would like to know if there is a code out there where I can input the list off all the companies and the locations they operate in and then cross reference where there most activity is globally? If so can anybody please help?
