VSCode window switching

This is a variation of a question I asked over a year ago, and still haven't solved.
It is most annoying,
here are the conditions:

• Right click in code window
  
• Select 'Run Python file in terminal'
  
• Click (once) in terminal window
  
• Expect to be able to run command from cursor (after code has finished executing)
  
• Cursor still in code window, need to double click for it to be in terminal window.
  
• Type my bash command in code window, messing up code.
  

I have yet discovered how to change options so that I can enter other window with single click.
This is an annoyance that I would love to get fixed.
Double click is not intuitive in this instance.
